In line with what has been reported in the past couple of weeks, Xiaomi will indeed be launching the flagship Mi 4 in India this month. The Chinese company has sent us an invite for an event on January 28 in New Delhi where it will be launching the Mi 4.
The Mi 4 was unveiled in July last year in China, and was earlier speculated to launch in India in December, but has since seen quite a few delays. The company is also embroiled in a legal battle with Ericsson, which could have further delayed plans for launching the Mi 3 successor in the country.
To recap on the specifications, the Mi 4 flaunts a 5-inch full HD 1080p display, and is powered by a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. Also included is 16GB internal storage.
The smartphone also features a 13-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 3,080mAh battery that the company claims can survive for a day and half on normal usage. It also claims that the battery can be charged up to 60 percent in just an hour. While the event is a week away, there have been quite a bit of speculation regarding the price. Recent reports claim that the Mi 4 will be priced in India around Rs 20,000.
Earlier this month, Xiaomi launched the Mi Note in China, and also unveiled the Mi Note Pro, which is essentially a more powerful variant of the phablet that will be launched later this year.
